Introduction to Magic

As a way to battle the monsters that ruled the world, humans evolved into beings who could use magic freely. Colored blood came to be during Era 0, when Nadia was the first being within mankind to have colored blood. After years of research, scientists within the kingdom managed to categorize most blood colors and share their insight with the public.

--

Red Blood: Your body is your temple. Those who are red blooded tend to naturally have increased height, muscle mass, strength, and speed, but they can also amplify these attributes using their magic. Other things are possible with this magic, such as stretching, hardening, or even modifying your anatomy to make the impossible, possible. Additionally, red bloods are capable of utilizing the power of sound and music; their imagination is the limit.

Orange Blood: Those with orange blood possess magic that is closest to connected with mother nature, from being able to communicate with animals (and sometimes influence them to do things), to controlling earthly elements; such as the flora and earth around them. Sometimes, the nature can induce other types of magic, such as healing or summoning. It depends, really. Additionally, orange bloods may shapeshift into animals, as well as exchange bodies with animals.

Yellow Blood: Those with yellow blood are typically able to summon and conjure items that they can control however they please. For most yellow bloods, the only things that can be conjured are real world items. However, the more skilled the user, the more permanence the items they create have, the better quality it is, and in some cases, yellow bloods can conjure theoretical items they believe to be real or possible to create. Additionally, yellow bloods have a natural resistance against mind control, and may also summon monsters they are familiar with.

Green Blood: Those with green blood usually are able to connect and interact with deceased spirits, and use a certain extent of their power to their advantage. Someone with green blood could have the ability to take an animal's spirit and gain a trait from that animal (for example, taking a turtle's spirit and gaining a hard shell on your back, or taking a spider's spirit and gaining more eyes, or poison, or more legs, etc.) Or sometimes, they could even allow a spirit to take over their body for a certain amount of time, and gain a set of skills or certain magic. More skilled green bloods can interact with living spirits, though, this kind of power is rare. Additionally, green bloods may utilize basic mind control, as well as potentially create hive minds.

Blue Blood: Those with blue blood focus solely on mending small wounds, curing sickness, applying boons, and creating defensive shields, making this crucial for things such as clinics, infirmaries, and for Adventurer groups. The more experienced the person, the more effective the healing and other abilities are. Typically, people with blue blood undergo medical training so they don't have to rely on their magic. These healers tend to find themselves having less blood than others, making mending the body a strenuous task; it is rare to find a mage that can instantly heal all wounds. In a way, a blue blood is a yellow blood but much more supportive. Additionally, blue bloods may summon familiars and other creatures that will aid both themselves and others.

Purple Blood: Those with purple blood usually deal with deception, poison, placing curses, and telepathy/telekinesis. People with purple blood can do a wide variety of things such as camoflauging themselves, a plethora of curses, creating illusions, tampering with shadows and the evil, different kinds of poisons and toxins, as well as communicating and lifting objects via their mind due to purple blood being more so related to the mental aspect of humans. Additionally, purple bloods can utilize weak clairvoyance and psionics.

Pink Blood: Those with pink blood can use their blood and manipulate it as they please, such as solidifying their blood to create a blood spear, creating clones, or etc. The limits of this magic tend to be difficult to define, especially when a pink blooded is extremely skilled. People who have pink blood usually have a surplus of blood, yet, they tend to overdo it and sometimes faint or die from losing too much blood. Additionally, pink bloods are capable of nullifying blood magic, and depriving monsters and other humans of their power.

Grey Blood: Those with grey blood have no magic whatsoever. Some children tend to start their lives with grey blood before it slowly evolves into a different color; others are born with their blood color right off the bat. Some unlucky humans remain grey blooded for the rest of their lives, making them the average human. This blood color is extremely rare.

White Blood: White blood is considered the purest type of blood, and is the most rare. White blood is able to use any type of magic they please, and happens to be the strongest since white is every color of the light, after all. (OFF LIMITS)

Black Blood: Those with black blood have a type of magic that is undocumented, meaning that their magic is entirely mysterious. It could be practically anything. This type of blood color is rare. (OFF LIMITS)

UNDERTONES

Magic is malleable and versatile; though humanity can define it and put it into a category, its potential is forever endless, and the possibilities are pliable. When hit by direct sunlight, some blood has a slight 'undertone,' or additional hue to it, giving it a unique glimmer. Those with this type of blood tend to have additional unique abilities.

Golden Undertones: Some doses of red, orange, and yellow blood have a golden overlay to them which can be observed when under direct sunlight. It is believed to form after a great achievement, or merely appears for those who live sophisticated lives. Golden undertones grant the ability to utilize cloning and slight mental/emotional influence of others.

Silver Undertones: Some doses of green, blue, and purple blood have a silver glint to them which can be spotted when under direct sunlight. It is believed to form after a person has officially matured; when their brains have developed rationale and sense. Silver undertones grant the animation of inanimate objects, as well as some forms of transmutation.

Bronze Undertones: Some doses of pink and grey blood have a bronze shimmer to them which can be witnessed when under direct sunlight. It is believed to form after a moment when a person has shown reliance, strength, and support to those around them; when they have put themselves aside and cared for someone else. Bronze undertones grant the ability to accurately track and map areas with ease, as well as boosting others' spells beyond their limits; blood magic boosting.
